When I first put together this course, I was creating it as an assignment for a college class where each of us shared a self-care activity. With extra time in the middle of the semester, I set to work making this document as clear, simple, and visually pleasing as possible. I wanted everyone in the class to enjoy jewelry making as much as I do, and I wanted the pages to be aesthetically pleasing and easy to read to give that goal some momentum.

The PDF was designed to be simple and calming, so there's some wiggle room on purpose! If you're working on your earrings, necklace, keychain, or personal creative idea for this pattern and want to stray from my suggestions, I've tried to include little tips that will help you to be successful in any of your wandering choices :) For example, if you are making a necklace that stretches the flower pattern into a longer strip of woven beads, I suggest using beads for the middle and outer "petals" that are similar sizes so that the string of beads doesn't curve into the flower shape of the earrings.

There's also complete flexibility in style. You can buy beads specially to match a color palette you like, or random ones you have on hand. Gather some similar bicone glass beads and alternate colors for the middle or outer petals, and watch a stained-glass pattern evolve!

Whether you like pastel colors, beachy vibes, natural stones, or friendship-bracelet style beads, you can make this pattern uniquely yours. Email us photos of your creations at thejewelrystudent@gmail.com for a chance to have your photo featured on our website!
